Applications in which a locking device is dimensionally too large to fit into a component, or in which the torque requirements are beyond the capability of any device on the market, can also present a challenge.Blair/Ruland: The bolt pattern on locking devices can bring many challenges. Because of the time required to loosen and tighten the bolts, locking devices are not well suited for applications that require regular adjustments. Confined areas can also pose problems because of limited access to the bolt heads. Another challenge for locking devices is equipment with extended length shafts, which can be difficult to service because of the disassembly required, especially if the shaft is supported at both ends. * I use a 15-kilowatt PTO Onan generator to run the house during extended power outages. I bought it used last year for $1,100. I also have a 4.5-kilowatt engine-driven generator with welder capabilities.* I bought a Generac 45/60-kilowatt PTO generator for my hog farm because I got tired of my electric company not wanting to replace a fuse in a timely manner.* We use two Onan 45-kilowatt generators with Ford engines. They have been very reliable. They cost $15,000 each, plus $1,000-$2,000 for switches, and even more for installation and hookup. It is expensive, but we need the large kilowatt output to power 2 acres of greenhouse production. Though light in weight, Airbor magnetic drill has a powerful 1.6-hp air motor and 1,600-lb magnetic holding strength. With its extra rack, stroke length is extended to 10 1/4 in. Annular cutter capacity is up to 2 1/16 in. diam. Geared chuck adapter converts the unit to a standard drill press. The Slugger Air Force pneumatic drill, at 24 lbs, 6 1/4" high, is useful for confined area drilling. The drill''s features include a permanent magnet that turns on or off by air power, a cutter capacity of up to 1 1/16" diameter x 3/4" depth and the ability to use ShortSlugger cutters and frame cutters.
