It turns out that he was demonstrating the company''s new Cool Burning tip. Yes, impressive!I''ve always been curious about ultrasonic leak detectors, especially when using them to locate refrigerant leaks. The Amprobe people had a new twist to demonstrate at the show. Their Model TMULD-300 has a parabolic reflector that mounts around the microphone tip. This, they say, accomplishes three objectives: It makes the pickup several times more sensitive; it takes the pickup more directional; and it reduces wind noise. Rating the riskIn Dane County, Wisconsin, the double-walled tanks are the containment system of choice, according to Bob Williams, marketing manager for the DanCo ES Co-op. "With this system, you don''t get a buildup of water in the containment dike," he says. While he has installed five of the fuel tank systems in the past year, Williams admits many producers are hesitant to make the investment. "We try to get them to go with some type of containment because long-term we think they will need it. We provide financing to ease the cost," he says. The drill''s features include a permanent magnet that turns on or off by air power, a cutter capacity of up to 1 1/16" diameter x 3/4" depth and the ability to use ShortSlugger cutters and frame cutters.
